Digital Authentication

Every item submitted to Time District to be sold digitally is checked for accuracy, and certain high-risks brands may also be checked for authenticity, before being published on the platform. To do this, we use a network of experts, removing an average of 8% of items without them ever being listed on Time District. Only approved items make it onto our platform, ensuring you can shop with confidence.

Database Verification

Watch details are checked against The Watch Register’s comprehensive database, a trusted resource in the watch industry. This step is a vital part of our commitment to combat fraud, thief, and counterfeit timepieces.

Physical Authentication

All order placed is shipped using Authenticated Shipping, the item is picked up at the seller’s address and shipped to one of our authentication’s partner watchmaker for physical authentication and thorough quality control checks of 53 checks points.

All these expertise – and years of experience – are put to use every time an item is authenticated.

Quality Control

In addition, to double check the authenticity, a watch expert is appointed to control the authentication report and validate the several check points listed. Once items have been authenticated, they go straight to quality control team. These experts carefully check the item to verify that everything is exactly as described by the seller, and that the buyer’s expectations will be met.

Transparency & Unforgeability

Both buyers and sellers have access to the Authentication Report embedded in the blockchain. This ensures that the authentication record remains tamper-proof for the entire lifetime of the timepiece, providing an unmatched level of transparency and security.

What payment methods are accepted on Time District?

Time District payment operator is Stripe. Stripe accepts various payment methods, including credit/debit cards and secure digital payment options. The specific payment methods available may vary depending on your location and amount of the transaction.

What fees are associated with using Time District?

We charge a commission fee on the seller’s transaction amount. This helps maintain the platform and cover various costs, including authentication, verification, insured shipping, escrow service payment, and listings expenses. The commission scheme rewards the frequency of purchase and sale activities. With each trading activity added to the member’s account, you can gain access to reduced commission thresholds.

The commission starts at 18%—minimum fee of CHF 750 applies for complete security service, and can decrease to as low as 10% for the most active members. More details about our fees can be found in our Terms and Conditions.

Who is responsible for paying import duties?

Customs charges, as well as any associated import tax, VAT, or duties as required by your local jurisdiction are the Buyer’s responsibility.

Is Time District offering return option?

Should an item be discovered to be compromised or not in compliance with our conformity and authentication standards, Time District has the authority to proceed with a refund at the Buyer's discretion. Alternatively, the buyer may choose to request the cancellation of the sale and receive a full refund.

Items purchased from individual sellers and successfully authenticated and conformed by experts, are not eligible for returns. However, if you have changed your mind about a received item, you can quickly re-list it for sale with Time District. Here’s how it works:

• Contact Time District at concierge@timedistrict.com within 48 hours of receiving your order: you can re-list your item for a preferred rate of 8%.

• After 14 days: the preferred rate option expires, and standard commission fees applied for re-listing.
